Yoshioka ( (よし) (おか) , Yoshioka; "Yoshioka") is the captain of the 2nd squad of Katahara Metsudo's Bodyguards.

Yoshioka is characterised by his long hair, which he usually puts up in a ponytail, and an eyepatch over his left eye, which he lost in a fight against Kanoh Agito.

While still an active assassin, Yoshioka was a horribly diminutive person, drunk on his own power. However, since losing to the Fang, he has considerably mellowed out, acting polite, gentlemanly, and hospitably.

Yoshioka worked as an assassin prior to challenging Kanoh Agito for the position of the Fang of Metsudo. He inevitably lost, losing his left eye in the process.[2]

Yoshioka was first seen defending Ganryu Island from a surprise attack by the Black Messengers alongside J and other Bodyguards. He and J moved their squads to the northern cliff on Katahara Retsudo's orders after the Extermination Force arrived to subdue the Black Messengers.

During the gap day between the first and second rounds of the tournament, Yoshioka was assigned to guard Yamashita Kazuo and his team, who were moved to a villa on Nogi Hideki's orders in order to avoid having their fighter poached. He was the only one of the captains to be assigned such duty. During the day, Tokita Ohma enlisted Yoshioka's aid as a sparring partner, having him use a whip and spear against Ohma's bare hands. After Ohma effortlessly countered Yoshioka's weapons, Yoshioka got caught up in the heat of battle for the first time since his fight with Kanoh Agito, and attacked Ohma bare-handed. He then related his defeat at Agito's hands to Ohma, and expressed his admiration towards Ohma for surviving an encounter with the Fang without losing his drive to fight.

Yoshioka then watched in warm satisfaction as Ohma took on Kure Raian in the second round.

During Hayami Katsumasa's attempted coup d'etat, Yoshioka and the other Bodyguards quickly returned to the Kengan Dome to help subdue the rampaging Guardians.

Power & Abilities

Though he claims the contrary, Yoshioka is able to use any and all weapons to a proficient level (to an extent),[1] as well as being well versed in hand-to-hand combat. He was more powerful before his defeat to Kanoh Agito,[1] but Ohma remarked that he could do well in the Kengan Annihilation Tournament.[2]

Notes & Trivia
