Totsugawa Keiji (十津川 敬司, Totsugawa Keiji; "Keiji Totsugawa"), also known as State Violence Karate (国家暴力空手, Kokka Bōryoku Karate), is a police officer and a senior Rokushin Kaikan karateka, 4th Dan.

Appearance[]

Totsugawa is an indifferent looking man with slicked back hair, pronounced tear troughs, a stubbled beard and an overall languorous expression on his face. Befitting of his status as a 4th Dan black belt karateka, Totsugawa has a muscular body.

Personality[]

He is a very relaxed and passive individual. Totsugawa is respected by a lot of the younger Rokushin members as he is disciplined and has taught them a lot, Oshio Gaku being one of them. He has an underlying laziness about him, disliking intense exercises.[1]

History[]

Before the Rokushin Three existed, Totsugawa and Ao Kenji were the pillars of the Rokushin, being known as the Rokushin Two.[1] Twenty years ago, he and Ao lead the Rokushin to victory in their battle with the Paolin Temple.

Plot[]

Under his director's orders, he released Oshio Gaku from prison so the young karateka could participate in the Rokushin Kaikan's second tournament.

At the start of the Rokushin Kaikan Tournament, he thought to himself that Ao Kenji had put him in a tough block again, with his first round opponent being Hayakuwa Samato.

Power & Abilities[]

Totsugawa's karate style is something akin to proto-full contact karate.

Etymology[]

  • Totsugawa means "ten" (十) (to), "haven, port, harbor, ferry" (津) (tsu/zu) and "river, stream" (川) (kawa/gawa).
  • Keiji means "respect" (敬) (kei) and "officer, boss" (司) (ji).

Notes & Trivia[]

  • He was born in Hokkaido.[1]
  • Totsugawa is a veteran and no longer competes in competitions because of his age. He only competed in the recent open tournament because of Ao Kenji's orders.[1]
  • He has a wife and kids and is also a smoker.[1]
