Hatsumi Ryozo (初見 良三, Hatsumi Ryōzō; "Ryozo Hatsumi") is a fighter who participated in the Rokushin Kaikan Tournament and the successor to the Hatsumi-style school of Aikido.

Appearance

Ryozo is a languid looking individual who almost always wears an equally relaxed, disinterested facial expression. He has long hair that he ties into a high ponytail with two long thick bangs that frame his face, noticeable bags under his eyes and an unkempt circle beard.

Personality

He is a noticeably relaxed and blasé person, who would rather do whatever he wants than anything else. Despite being a fighting prodigy, Ryozo has little interest in fighting and is more into smoking and drinking.

Plot

Ryozo fought against hayakuwa samato.

Samato was initially dominating him, however Ryozo was steadily improving, getting into peak condition. Samato was having trouble with this improvement, but then started to use his real strength and overwhelmed Ryozo enough for him to forfeit.

Power & Abilities

Ryozo is a powerful practitioner of Hatsumi-style Aikido and self-proclaimed "new ninja" (ネオＮＩＮＪＡ, Neo Ninja), fighting using a mix of Hatsumi-style Aikido techniques and "ninja" techniques. He is considered a fighting genius and it was noted that if a normal person's fighting potential is a 1, Ryozo's fighting potential would be a 10.

Etymology

• Hatsumi means "first look" (初見).
• Ryozo means "good, virtuous, respectable" (良) (ryo) and "three" (三) (zo).

Notes & Trivia

• Ryozo was ranked second in the official Fist of the Seeker popularity poll.
• Sandrovich stated that Ryozo's skill in aikido (and aikido alone) exceeds that of Sen's.
