Summary[]
Ohma promises Kazuo that he won't let Kenzo die. Kazuo admits what Raian said about his son is true. He confides in Ohma about his pride for Kenzo, but discovered his son was so intelligent that he would conduct experiments such as recreating the human brain from the cells of a rat, believing humans needed evolution. He saw a monster in his son. After that, Kenzo stopped leaving his room entirely. He couldn't bring himself to face his son again. His wife, Kenzo's mother left them shortly after that. Kazuo admits to being a failure as a father, but is loyal to protecting his son and begs Ohma to win this match.
Erioh vies for Ohma's death for capturing Karla's eye. The Kure family bomb Kazuo's home, revealing Kenzo had reinforced the entirety of its formation to be bomb resistant. They aim to capture Kenzo.
Raian is the first to swing, Ohma dodges and retaliates by punching Raian in the jaw. He lands another blow in Raian's face before initiating swimming swallow on Raian's defense. Ohma has improved greatly since his first fight, but it doesn't prevent Raian from knocking him off his feet. Due to the Kure blood in Raian's veins, he can sustain an unprecedented amount of damage without any of it hindering his performance. Raian is eager to see Ohma use Advance, trying to provoke him to transform.
Raian finds ease in deflecting Ohma's techniques, stating aloud he knows Ohma has yet to master any of them. Raian takes Ohma by the hair and pummels him like Ohma is nothing but a ragdoll, smashing his face into the ground until it breaks around them. Ohma finds the Niko style doesn't work for him at all, and uses Advance to take on Raian. Raian is overwhelmed by the sheer jump in Ohma's power.
Kiryu is elated to see Advance, recalling how he sees a God in Ohma. Raian uses his family's technique, removal and the fight becomes a battle between monsters. Hajime asks Kazuo if he has noticed it too, the toll Advance takes on Ohma's body as he accelerates his heart to such heights it causes his power to boost. Kazuo frantically tries to contact his son, hoping Kenzo can escape so Ohma can throw the game. However, Kenzo is already being taken into the Kure family's custody.
When Kazuo returns to the ring, he sees Ohma has been immobilized on the ground.
Anime and Manga Discrepancies[]
- The appearance of a mysterious phantom figure that tells Ohma to abandon "his" Niko Style and use the Advance instead is omitted throughout the fight in the anime (including when the figure told Ohma that it seemed he wasn't the "Tiger's Vessel" after all).
